The ancient Buddhist word sati, often translated as mindfulness, has the notion of remembering at its root. In this session, we’ll engage in embodiment and titration practices as a way to come home to the body, steady the heart and mind, and resource ourselves when times get difficult.
Dawn Mauricio Is a Montreal-based Filipina Canadian mindfulness meditation and Buddhist meditation teacher and author. She has been practicing and studying Insight Meditation since 2005, regularly sitting long intensive meditation retreats in Canada, United States, Thailand, Burma, and South Africa. She has graduated from the first teacher development group of True North Insight, and Spirit Rock's Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training, Dedicated Practitioner's Program, and 4-year Dharma Retreat Teacher Training.
Dawn's style of teaching is playful, dynamic, and heartfelt. She leads daylongs, retreats, yearlong programs, and mindfulness workshops in Canada and the United States for Spirit Rock, True North Insight, and for teens with Inward Bound Mindfulness Education. Dawn serves on the board and guiding teachers council of True North Insight, as well as the leadership council for Sacred Mountain Sangha. Dawn is also the author of Mindfulness Meditation for Beginners: 50 Meditations to Practice Awareness, Acceptance, and Peace.
