Jason Ānanda Josephson Storm specializes in the intersection between religion, law and popular culture in Edo-Meiji Japan (1600–1912). In addition to working on divination, ghosts, and demons, his research explores the contested borderland between "religion" and "science," as well as theories of religion in general. His most recent publication is Metamodernism: The Future of Theory (2021).
