Caiyang Xu

Caiyang received her BS in Math and Religion from Tufts University and further delved into Chinese Buddhism during her MA years at Columbia University. She currently works on the social and cultural history of Chinese Buddhism in the Middle Period (7th to 13th centuries), with particular interest in its ritual life, its intersection with popular religion, and the ramifications of esoteric elements.
