Bernard Faure: "Giving the gods their due: Looking back at Japanese religion"

A graduate of University of Paris, Professor Faure specializes in East Asian Buddhism, with an emphasis on Chan/Zen and Tantric Buddhism. He has published many books in French and English, including The Fluid Pantheon: Gods of Medieval Japan, Volume 1 and Protectors of Predators: Gods of Medieval Japan, Volume 2. He is currently the Kao Professor of Japanese Religion at Columbia University.
