HCBSS Podcast Launch

HCBSS Podcast Logo with bodhi tree and Stanford S

The Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford has launched a new podcast and video-interview series!

In monthly episodes, Communications Manager Miles Osgood will interview faculty, graduate students, visiting scholars, and alumni about their current research and their academic journey. These conversations are intended to be both academic and accessible: topics range from scholarly publications to personal reflections, covering the history, philosophy, and practice of Buddhism.

Each installment will be posted in a new Media menu of our website, with accompanying video of the interview on our YouTube channel. Episodes will be available on all major streaming platforms, including Apple and Spotify.

Our inaugural episode features Venerable Bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā discussing the journey of her own research in relation to the historical transmission of Buddhists texts, the process of integrating her two lives as an academic and monastic, and the relevance of Buddhism’s “two truths” doctrine in the present day.

Stay tuned next month for a new conversation with Stephen Bokenkamp.
