The Department of Religious Studies at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Buddhist Studies, with a preference for applicants specializing in Tantric Buddhism and/or Buddhism of the Himalayas. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses and advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to contribute to the broader teaching mission of a Religious Studies Department. To that end, applications from candidates with interests in theory and method in the study of religion, as well as from those able to build bridges to the Department’s other fields are especially welcome.

Applicants should send three letters of recommendation, a full curriculum vitae, a writing sample of approximately thirty pages, and a statement outlining research and teaching interests (not longer than 3 pages) via Interfolio.
