Please join us for the third meeting of the East Asian Studies Workshop 2020–21, sponsored by the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and co-sponsored by The Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford.

This workshop features The Handsome Monk and Other Stories (Columbia University Press, 2019), a collection of short stories by Tsering Döndrup, one of the most important authors writing in Tibetan today. Christopher Peacock, who translated these stories into English, will share his insights and experience at the workshop. Commentaries from two discussants, Melissa A. Hosek (PhD candidate in Modern Chinese Literature at Stanford) and Professor James Gentry will follow the talk, after which the floor will be open for comments and questions from the audience.
